Application conditions

The standard type M1 (single lip) is suited for general applications with pressure up to 8 bar and speed up to ≦ 30 m/s. The 100% PTFE HiperLip® type NA (single lip) can be used in applications with pressure up to 5 bar and speed up to 30m/s. It performs well even under poorly lubricated or dry conditions. The standard type K2 or NB (dual lips) is suited for higher pressure up to 35 bar.

Installation requirements

   Correct installation for excellent performance

To ensure excellent sealing performance and longer service life of HiperLip®, shaft hardness in excess of 40 HRC is recommended for general applications and 58 HRC or higher for applications of poor lubrication or high rotating speed. The surface roughness should be between 0.2 and 0.5s in general applications and should be 0.2s or less in vacuum applications.

The sealing load of HiperLip® can be adjusted based on such parameters as the thickness, shape and bend point of the sealing lip to meet a variety of applications and requirements.

  HiperLip® Type MC

HiperLip® type MC is a single-lip design with precision-pressed metal case. The metal case clamps the PTFE seals in position and requires no static gaskets, thereby increasing the heat and chemical resistance and allowing it to fully replace conventional seals. It is suitable for up to 60 m/s in shaft speed, up to 5 bar in operating pressure, and wide temperature range. The low coefficient of friction and stick-slip-free effect allows application in low-lube environment. . If more stringent sealing functions are required, threaded PTFE lip (a set of return feed spiral groove into the seal lip ) on the medium side can provide better performance due to hydrodynamic effect.
